About The 386

The 386 is a small 150 acre farm located in southern Lafayette County, Mississippi, approximately 20 minutes from Oxford, Mississippi.  Ownership of the farm began as a dream in 1993 when a young college student was attending the University of Mississippi. Later in life and married to the perfect woman, the dream came to reality when the Robinson family was able to purchase the farm from their good friend David Merideth, the Lawdoctor and Mule Whisperer.

Home for our family has been on a smaller tract adjacent the farm since 1996. Our two older children, Wade and Marlie, were raised adjacent to The 386, and they are now making a life for themselves. Wade is married with two children of his own, and Marlie was recently married in March of 2021.

Currently, we are constructing our “forever home” on The 386. The 386 will be home to us along with our youngest child, Colt.

Animals and tending to their needs has been a passion of Mary’s since childhood.  Chasing wild game has been an obsession of Bart’s for most of his life.  Young Colt Robinson, who is part owner of Alibi’s Big Sky of the 386, shares both the passion of his mom and obsession of his dad. Together, we are “The 386 Ranch, Kennel, and Home.”

As a family, we are God fearing.  As a ranch, we maintain and improve the gifts and blessings we have received for our future generations.  As a kennel, we plan to raise, train and hunt the dogs we love in an attempt to improve upon the perfect breed of hunting dogs, the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon.

“When we get to the 386, we are home.”

— Wade, circa about 2007 on the way home from a summer vacation
